50 Shades of Grey Trilogy by E. L. James

I’m sure many of you, if not all, have heard of the 50 Shades of Grey Trilogy by E. L. James. All three books have been at the NY Times best selling list and been called “mommy-porn”. Now, I am no mommy, but this shit is hot. I finally got sick and tired of fantasizing about what a true long term bdsm relationship would really feel like, so I picked up this novel during finals week (yeah, bad idea). I haven’t been able to put the trilogy down the last week and a half. And if you know me, you would know I don’t read out of my normal studies and human rights/political artiles and if I do I certainly don’t read fiction novels. This trilogy has completely taken over my life and fantasies.

Ever since I started the novel I have been looking at every male in a suit thinking “Could he be my Christian Grey?” Lol. I know, embarrassing. This is a different kind of bdsm novel I expected. I expected her to indulge into bdsm; not him leave most parts of the bdsm world. And when she ran out on him in the first novel because he wacked her 6 times with a belt I wanted to slap her and tell her to suck it up. lol. Surprsingly though, I fell in love with these novels. Hot, emotional, loving, fucked up, orgasmic and so much more! I highly recommend it.

I’m not sure I understand why libraries are banning it around the country.  Because it says clitoris, anal sex?  Because oral sex?  Because its descriptive orgasms?  Please, we have something called the first ammendment and if a person doesn’t want to read about a bdsm loving relationship with kinky fuckery and twitchy palms then they have the right not to read it. 

I loved everything about the novels.  Anastasia’s inner goddess, the vanilla sex, their bdsm experiences, their emails back and forth (some of my favorite parts), and their lavish outrageous love for each other is perfection.  I understand it is not a book for everyone.  We all have our hard limits right? ; ).  But in my opinion, give it a chance.  This isn’t even close to being a full on bdsm relationship novel as it could be.. only because Anastasia refuses to obey Christian all the time.  Either way, its a great read.  No its no shakesphere.  Its words don’t flow off the page like art.  Its a damn bdsm story with lots of fucking, so who cares?! LOVE.
